
All title case styles distinguish between minor and major words (which are sometimes also called “principal words”). Minor words are lowercased in titles, and major words are capitalized. So, is am a minor or a major word? This can be answered easily: am is a form of the verb to be, and verbs are considered to be major words, even if they are short or auxiliary verbs. Therefore am should always be capitalized in titles. The following examples illustrate that:
I Am Not Going to Get Up Today!
What Am I Gonna Do
See You When I Am Famous
